RUSSIAN TEA
COOKIES (ROSH HASHANAH)

Makes 4 dozen. Parve
|
|
INGREDIENTS:
|
- 1 C pareve margarine
- 1/2 C confectioner's sugar
- 1 t vanilla
- 2-1/4 C flour
- Dash of salt
- 3/4 C golden raisins
|

|
DIRECTIONS:
|
- Cream margarine, sugar and vanilla
- Add flour and a dash of salt, combine
well.
- Plump raisins in boiling water, drain, pat
dry and dust with 1 tablespoon flour.
- Stir into dough. Chill in plastic bag.
Pinch off and roll 1 rounded tablespoon of dough at a time and
place on an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake at 400° F for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Roll in confectioner's sugar while warm.
- Freeze or store air tight. Sift additional
confectioners' sugar on cookies before serving.
