INGREDIENTS: |
- 1 pound pinto beans
- 3 pounds Kosher flank meat
- Paprika, salt and pepper, to taste
- ½ cup Kosher chicken fat
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Flour
- 1 cup barley
- Boiling water to cover

DIRECTIONS: |
- Soak beans overnight. Drain in morning.
- Rub Kosher meat with paprika, salt and pepper.
- In a heavy ovenproof pot with a lid,
place oil or Kosher chicken fat, meat, onion, garlic.
- Sprinkle with flour
- Add beans and barley.
- Add boiling water. Cover tightly.
- Cook in a 350° F oven about 3 hours.
- If dry, pour on some soup.
- Serves 8
